Abstract
The aim of this quasi-experimental quantitative research is to compare solving problems of shapes, movements and localization, between the pretest and the posttest, after using an origami program with 23 sixth grade primary students of a school in Santiago de Surco. To relate the effect of the application of the origami program, a non-parametric Wilcoxon test was used, of which the result showed there is significance between the results of the pre-test and pos-test. Furthermore, this test was used to relate each dimension of Solving problems of shapes, movements and localization: representation of data with geometric shapes and their transformations, communication of the understanding of geometric shapes and relationships, use of strategies and procedures for orientation in space, support of claims about geometric relationships. The results showed there was significance in the development of three of the four dimensions.
