Abstract
The present quantitative, descriptive, basic, non-experimental and crosssectional correlational research was based on identifying the relationship between academic self-efficacy and self-esteem in a sample of 126 early childhood education students from a university in Lima. To measure academic self-efficacy, the Academic Self-Efficacy Scale of Dr. Herbert Robles Mori as applied, and to measure self-esteem, the Rosenberg SelfEsteem Scale was applied. It was determined that there is a negative and non-significant relationship between academic self-efficacy and self-esteem, demonstrating that it seems that self-esteem would not be a determining variable for academic self-efficacy. This may be due to the broadness of both constructs and the measures used, as indicated by the scientific evidence.
