Abstract
La anemia uno de los mayores trastornos nutricionales que afecta a grupos vulnerables, entre ellas la mujer en edad fértil (MEF) y constituye un serio problema de salud pública en el país. El objetivo fue determinar el efecto de la suplementación con hierro hemínico en mujeres de edad fértil que laboran en Base Naval del Callao, Métodos y materiales, estudio peri experimental en 15 mujeres anémicas que laboran en la Base Naval del Callao, de corte longitudinal en 4 semanas. Se midió hematocrito y consumo de alimentos antes y después de la intervención realizada con el consumo de 6 capsulas (13.8 mg hierro) y dos veces por semana 30 g de sangre (13 mg de hierro). Los estadísticos aplicados fueron prueba t y de rangos con signo de Wilcoxon para muestras relacionadas. Resultados reducción de la prevalencia de anemia en 73.3%, aumento del promedio de hematocrito, y valores normales de adecuación de la ingesta dietaría en energía, hierro y vitamina C , el consumo de sangre , carne, pescado y hígado de manera semanal. Conclusiones La suplementación con capsula de hierro hemínico y la educación alimentaria nutricional simultáneamente influyen significativamente en la reducción de la anemia por deficiencia de hierro en mujeres de edad fértil anémicas que laboran en la Base Naval del Callao
