Abstract
El presente estudio busca establecer la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y
las aptitudes mentales primarias en estudiantes de 5to de secundaria de colegios
diferenciados. Así mismo, comparar ambas variables entre los estudiantes de
Instituciones Educativas Estatal y Particular. El estudio es de nivel descriptivo, tipo
básico, y diseño correlacional - comparativo. La muestra está conformada por 161
estudiantes que cursaban el último año de secundaria en Instituciones Educativas
en el distrito de El Agustino, Lima, Perú. Los instrumentos empleados fueron el
Inventario de Inteligencia emocional de BarOn ICE: NA y el Test de Aptitudes
Mentales Primarias (PMA). Los resultados muestran que el coeficiente emocional
total y las dimensiones inteligencia interpersonal y manejo del estrés, se
relacionan significativamente con el factor V del PMA. Además, a nivel
comparativo no se hallaron diferencias estadísticamente significativas en la
inteligencia emocional según la gestión administrativa. Sin embargo, sí existen
diferencias en las aptitudes mentales primarias a favor de los estudiantes de
Institución Educativa Particular en los factores V, R, N y F.
The present study seeks to establish the relationship between the emotional intelligence and the primary mental abilities in students of 5th year of secondary from differentiated schools. Likewise, to compare both variables between students from State and Private Educational Institutions. The study is of descriptive level, basic type, and correlational - comparative design. The sample is made up of 161 students who were in their last year of secondary in Educational Institutions in the district of El Agustino, Lima, Perú. The instruments used were The BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory ICE: NA and The Primary Mental Abilities Test (PMA). The results show that the total emotional coefficient and the dimensions interpersonal intelligence and stress management, are significantly related to the factor V of PMA. Besides, at a comparative level no statistically significant differences were found in emotional intelligence according to educational management. However, there are differences in the primary mental abilities in favor of the students from Private Educational Institution in factors V, R, N and F.
