Abstract
The present study aims to determine the relationship between psychological well being and use of social networks in students at a private university in northern Lima. The study corresponds to a descriptive correlational level, of a basic type, under a non-experimental design with a transactional cut. The sample is made up of 175 first-year psychology students of both sexes, aged between 18 and 25, who were evaluated with the Psychological Well-being Scale (BIEPS-A; Casullo, 2002) adapted to the Peruvian context by (Domínguez, 2014) and the brief questionnaire on addiction to social networks (ARS-6; Salas et al., 2020). The results show that psychological well-being and its dimensions; Autonomy, links and projects show a statistically significant inverse relationship and medium level with the use of social networks, also reporting the trend that those students with medium and high levels of psychological well-being, show levels of occasional use compared to social networks, in this sense, it is concluded that the greater the psychological well-being, the lower the use of social networks in the participants.
