Abstract
Este estudio descriptivo investiga los determinantes del hábito lector en estudiantes de quinto ciclo de primaria en una institución privada en Carabayllo. La encuesta aplicada a 230 estudiantes destaca la influencia crucial del ambiente familiar, el apoyo docente, la frecuencia y el autoconcepto lectores. El entorno familiar favorable y el respaldo docente son esenciales para el desarrollo del hábito lector. La consistencia en la práctica de la lectura, evidente en la frecuencia lectora, juega un papel vital. Además, la percepción del estudiante sobre sí mismo como lector, afecta su disposición y motivación para leer. Estos resultados ofrecen una visión detallada y constituyen una base para diseñar intervenciones educativas efectivas que fomenten el hábito lector. Al considerar la importancia del ambiente familiar, el apoyo docente, tiempo de lectura, autopercepción lectora se pueden desarrollar programas que contribuyan al fortalecimiento de lectores competentes en esta etapa importante del aprendizaje.
This descriptive study investigates the determinants of reading habits in fifth grade students in a private institution in Carabayllo. The survey applied to 230 students highlights the crucial influence of family environment, teacher support, reading frequency and reading self-concept. A favorable family environment and teacher support are essential for the development of the reading habit. Consistency in reading practice, evident in reading frequency, plays a vital role. In addition, the student's perception of himself as a reader affects his willingness and motivation to read. These results provide detailed insight and constitute a basis for designing effective educational interventions to foster the reading habit. By considering the importance of the family environment, teacher support, reading time, and reading self-perception, programs can be developed that contribute to the strengthening of competent readers at this important stage of learning.
