Abstract
La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo establecer la relación entre la percepción de la imagen corporal y la ingesta dietética de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga. (UNSCH). El nivel de la investigación fue de nivel correlacional, de corte transversal, tipo aplicada, de diseño no experimental. La muestra de estudio fue de 313 estudiantes universitarios de sexo femenino y masculino. Los instrumentos empleados fueron las siluetas corporales de Stunkard y Stellard (1990), modificado por Collins (1991) y para analizar la ingesta dietética se utilizó el cuestionario de hábitos alimentarios de Ferro M. (2012). Se observó en los resultados que la mayoría de estudiantes presentaron alteración de su imagen corporal por subestimación, un gran porcentaje de universitarios presentaron una ingesta dietética adecuada, según número de comidas consumidas por día, preparación de alimentos, frecuencia de consumo, consumo de verduras y bebidas; así mismo el 77% de estudiantes presentó un índice de masa corporal normal, el 21.4% se encontraba con sobrepeso, 1% con delgadez y 0.6%obesidad. Conclusión: no se encontró relación significativa entre la percepción de la imagen corporal e ingesta dietética en los estudiantes universitarios.
The objective of this research was to establish the relationship between the perception of body image and dietary intake of students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Universidad Nacional San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH). (UNSCH). The level of the research was correlational, cross-sectional, applied type, non-experimental design. The study sample was 313 male and female university students. The instruments used were the body silhouettes of Stunkard and Stellard (1990), modified by Collins (1991) and to analyze dietary intake, the food habits questionnaire of Ferro M. (2012) was used. It was observed in the results that most students presented alteration of their body image by underestimation, a large percentage of university students presented an adequate dietary intake, according to number of meals consumed per day, food preparation, frequency of consumption, consumption of vegetables and beverages; likewise, 77% of students presented a normal body mass index, 21.4% were overweight, 1% were thin and 0.6% were obese. Conclusion: No significant relationship was found between body image perception and dietary intake in university students.
