Abstract
The purpose of this research was to identify if there is a relationship in parenting styles and social skills of children aged 3, 4 and 5 years, for which a correlational descriptive design was applied. The sample consisted of 52 parents of children aged 3, 4 and 5 years. The sample was non-probabilistic and the type of sampling was snowball. Two instruments were applied: Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire (PSDQ) by Robinson et al. (1995) adapted by Genebrozo and the Social Interaction Skills Questionnaire by Abugattas (2016) adapted by Genebrozo. The validity of the instruments was approved by expert judgment and with an acceptable level of reliability. Regarding data processing, SPSS statistics 28 version were used. It was concluded that there is no relationship between parenting styles and social skills. However, there are significant relationships between the dimensions of parenting styles with this dependent variable: a significant positive correlation (r= 0.443, p<0.05) between democratic parenting style and social skills.
