Abstract
The objective of the research was to verify the relationship that exists between creativity and the resolution of mathematical problems in a sample of 156 students, from the 5th grade of primary school from private educational institutions in four districts of Lima - Metropolitana. To achieve this objective, a non-experimental, cross-sectional design with a descriptive, correlational and quantitative approach was used, to measure creativity, the Evaluation of Basic Indicators of Creativity EIBC-RD, Sánchez (2019), likewise, was applied to measure the resolution of problems, the RPM-5 Mathematical Resolution Test, Paico (2017) was used. It was determined that there is a direct and statistically significant relationship between creativity and mathematical problem solving, showing that the greater the creativity, the greater the achievement of the competence solves quantity problems, especially in combination and comparison problems. Likewise, differentiated results were evidenced according to the IEP, attributable to the study plan, methodology and teaching practice that each institution deploys
