Abstract
The present pedagogical proposal demonstrates the importance of habilitation and / or rehabilitation of children with cochlear implants. Children who receive the cochlear implant at an early age can acquire different levels of language and their speech will be more intelligible; whereas the children implanted at later ages will find it more difficult to re-establish auditory function for language. Through auditory training, the child with a cochlear implant will learn to listen to their own voice, the voices of others, the environmental sounds as well as to decode the sounds of speech, taking advantage of critical periods and the brain plasticity. The auditory training is fundamental in the first months after the placement of the cochlear implant to identify and discriminate the sounds until reaching the acquisition and understanding of the language. Therefore, next sessions are presented taking into account the levels of auditory training that will serve to work with children implanted.
