Timidez y autoconcepto en estudiantes de primaria de una institución educativa privada de Pachacamac
Abstract
Esta investigación tuvo como finalidad demostrar la correlación entre timidez y autoconcepto en estudiantes de primaria de una Institución Educativa Privada situada en Pachacámac. Asimismo, buscó establecer la relación entre timidez con cada una de las dimensiones del autoconcepto. Además, buscó demostrar las diferencias significativas entre los niveles de timidez y autoconcepto según grado académico y sexo del estudiante. El estudio de investigación fue enmarcado en un paradigma positivista, de enfoque cuantitativo, en un nivel descriptivo, de tipo básica y diseño no experimental, transversal y correlacional. La muestra estuvo comprendida por 100 participantes de educación primaria. Los instrumentos empleados fueron la Escala de timidez Cheek y Buss y Escala del autoconcepto Mc Daniel Piers. Se pudo concluir que los hallazgos demostraron correlación inversa (Rho= -0,231) y significativa 0,021 (p<0,05) entre timidez y autoconcepto. A su vez, se encontraron diferencias significativas entre los niveles de autoconcepto según grado académico y una relación inversa y significativa entre timidez y la dimensión autoconcepto físico. The purpose of this research is to demonstrate the correlation between shyness and self-concept in primary school students of a Private Educational Institution located in Pachacamac. Likewise, it seeks to establish the relationship between shyness with each of the dimensions of self-concept, which are: social, emotional, academic, and physical. In addition, it sought to demonstrate the significant differences between the levels of shyness and self-concept according to the academic grade and sex of the student. The research study was of a positivist paradigm, its approach was quantitative, its level was descriptive, it was of a basic type and a non-experimental, cross-sectional, correlational design. Regarding the sample, it was comprised of 100 participants from the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. The instruments used were the Cheek and Buss Shyness Scale and the Mc Daniel Piers Self-Concept Scale. It was possible to conclude that the findings demonstrated an inverse correlation (Rho= -0.231) and a significant 0.021 (p<0.05) between shyness and self-concept. In turn, significant differences were found between the levels of self-concept according to academic degree and an inverse and significant relationship between shyness and the physical self-concept dimension.
