Abstract
El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y resiliencia en una muestra de 181 adolescentes de una institución educativa pública de Trujillo durante la pandemia de COVID-19. La investigación fue cuantitativa, básica y descriptiva-correlacional. Los datos se recolectaron a través del Inventario de Cociente de Inteligencia Emocional de BarOn y la Escala de Resiliencia (ER). Los resultados obtenidos mostraron que el nivel de desarrollo promedio predomina en la inteligencia emocional (55.2%) y la resiliencia (49.7%). Se observa el nivel de desarrollo más bajo es el componente intrapersonal de la inteligencia emocional. Con respecto a la resiliencia, la aceptación de uno mismo y de la vida fue la dimensión con un nivel de desarrollo más bajo. Además, se corroboró la correlación estadísticamente significativa, directa y de magnitud grande entre la inteligencia emocional y resiliencia (r = 0.535, p < .005). Se concluye que existe la necesidad de fortalecer e intervenir el componente interpersonal de la inteligencia emocional y la aceptación de uno mismo y la vida de la resiliencia mediante programas individualizados según sean las necesidades de los estudiantes.
The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and resilience in a sample of 181 adolescents from a public educational institution in Trujillo during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research was quantitative, basic and descriptive-correlational. Data was collected through the BarOn Emotional Intelligence Quotient Inventory and the Resilience Scale (ER). The results obtained showed that the average level of development predominates in emotional intelligence (55.2%) and resilience (49.7%). The lowest level of development is observed is the intrapersonal component of emotional intelligence. Regarding resilience, acceptance of oneself and of life was the dimension with the lowest level of development. In addition, the statistically significant, direct and large reliability between emotional intelligence and resilience was confirmed (r = 0.535, p < .005). It is concluded that there is a need to strengthen and intervene in the interpersonal component of emotional intelligence and the acceptance of oneself and the life of resilience through individualized programs according to the needs of the students.
