Abstract
The present research belongs to the descriptive type, with a quantitative approach which aim was to find out the early maladaptive schemes developed by drivers belonging to a public transportation company in Metropolitan Lima. In order to carry out this study, it was taken into account the number of transit infringements committed by drivers within a span of ten year’s time. The sample was composed of 68 drivers whose average age ranges between 27 and 70 years old. They were evaluated by means of psychology questionnaire. The results obtained showed that the scheme used in the majority of drivers (77, 9 %) is the scheme 15. In the same way, other schemes were found such as 2, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 17. These results mean that when at least one scheme of each command is involved in each one of the five basic needs, was at some degree unattended or not satisfied enough. Likewise, it was found out that the ways of facing it by the tested population, were mostly those of performance and overcompensation.
