Abstract
The general objective of this research work was to "determine the relationship between attitudes towards death and the purpose in life in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic in employees of a banking company, in Lima, during the year 2022". Methodologically, it was a quantitative and descriptive study, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional and correlational design. It had a sample of 61 employees of a banking company, to which 4 questionnaires were applied, as data collection instruments, namely: (1) Crumbaugh and Maholick’s Purpose in Life Test (PIL) (adapted by Calle, 2016), (2) Death Anxiety Scale (DAS), by Templer (adapted by Calle, 2016), (3) Death Depression Scale (DDS-R), by Templer et al. (adapted by Calle, 2016) and (4) Death Obsession Scale (DOS), by Abdel-Kahlek (adapted by Calle, 2016). The results indicate that there is a weak, inverse and statistically significant correlation between the purpose in life and the obsession toward death; not being possible to find a statistically significant relationship between the purpose in life and the other two dimensions of attitudes towards death; that is, anxiety and depression towards death. In this regard, it was possible to conclude that there is an incipient relationship between purpose in life and attitudes towards death, making it necessary to expand the study.
