The purpose of this research is to compare the levels of resilience and their dimensions in a group of boys and girls aged 7 to 12 who are victims of family violence treated at a family protection institution in Metropolitan Lima. The research method is descriptive comparative. The sample consisted of 50 children of both sexes who were victims of family violence. To carry out this research, it was applied the resilience inventory for children by Ana Cecilia Salgado Lévano (2005). The results of the research indicate that children who are victims of family violence have a medium level of global resilience. It is also evident that in the self-esteem, empathy, autonomy and creativity factors, boys and girls present a medium level of resilience; however, there is a low level of humor in both sexes. Also according to statistical evidence there is no difference between sex and the dimension self-esteem, empathy, humor and creativity; however, in the autonomy dimension, unlike the other factors, sex is related to this dimension.
