The study has a quantitative approach, descriptive and correlational cross-sectional design. The population was constituted by 420 students between the ages of 12 to 18 years of age. The tests were the Resilience Scale (Wagnild & Young, 1993) and the Emotional Intelligence Scale TMMS - 24 (Salovey & Mayer, 1995). It was evidenced that there was a low correlation between the variables Resilience and Emotional Intelligence; when analyzing the correlations between the dimensions of emotional intelligence, they were moderate, with a highly significant statistical difference. The relationship between the dimensions of emotional intelligence and resilience indicate that emotional attention is weak with feeling good alone and self-confidence; with perseverance, equanimity and personal satisfaction had no association and emotional clarity and emotional repair were moderate with feeling good alone, personal satisfaction, perseverance, self-confidence and equanimity.
