Abstract
The present research entitled "Relationship of caloric energy value in lunch boxes and energy requirement of preschoolers according to sex and age in communal cots and initial state educational institutions of the Municipality of La Molina from July to December 2016" has as a general objective to relate the caloric value energy in lunch boxes and the energy requirement according to sex and age of the preschoolers. The methodology used in the research is of a descriptive - explorative type with no experimental, transversal and correlational design. A non-probabilistic sample was used for convenience, where the data of the total population was taken to carry out the analysis. The sample was 391 lunch boxes of preschool children. The independent variable corresponds to the caloric value measured with respect to the macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates and fats) and micronutrients (iron, zinc and calcium). The dependent variable corresponds to the energy requirements according to sex (male and female) and age (1 to 5 years). The results found indicate that: There is no relationship between energy caloric value with the requirement according to age and sex. It was also established that there is a relationship between proteins, carbohydrates, lipids and calcium according to the age of the children. It was also established that there is no relationship between macro and micro nutrients with the requirements by sex.
