Abstract
El objetivo del estudio fue determinar la correlación entre la valoración antropométrica y el control metabólico en niños con diabetes mellitus tipo 1 desde el debut hasta los doce meses, atendidos en el consultorio de Endocrinología del Instituto Nacional de Salud del Niño. Este es un estudio cuantitativo de alcance correlacional con diseño longitudinal panel y de carácter retrospectivo, el cual consistió en la revisión de 57 historias clínicas de pacientes con DM1 entre 0-18 años del período 2015-2016, se elaboró una ficha de recolección de datos los cuales fueron analizados en los programas estadísticos; resultando que la edad de diagnóstico en el estudio fue de 8.3 años, 53% perteneció al sexo femenino, 61.40% presentó CAD en el debut. Asimismo, en la fase de debut, existe correlación negativa significativa entre la edad del diagnóstico y el Z-score T/E que pierde significancia tras el seguimiento. A los seis meses existe correlación negativa significativa entre la HbA1C y el Z-score de T/E y a los doce meses una correlación significativa entre HbA1C y el Z-score de P/E y Z-score de T/E. Además de una correlación negativa significativa entre la edad de diagnóstico y el Z-score de IMC/E. Pese a as correlaciones encontradas, se concluye que no existe correlación positiva o negativa lo suficientemente significativa entre la valoración antropométrica y el control metabólico durante el primer año de enfermedad.
The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between the anthropometric assessment and metabolic control in children with type 1 diabetes, from the onset up to twelve months, who received attention at the Endocrinology section of National Children’s Health Institute. This is a correlational quantitative study with a panel longitudinal design and retrospective type, which consisted of reviewing 57 medical records of patients with T1D between 0 and 18 years of age, in the term 2015-2016. A data collection form was created, and the data obtained were analyzed statisticals tests; as a result, the age of diagnosis was 8.3 years, 53% were females and 61.4% had diabetic ketoacidosis at onset. Likewise, in the onset phase, there is significant negative correlation between the age of diagnosis and the length/height for age Z-score, which is less significant after follow-up. At six months, there is a significant negative correlation between the glycosylated hemoglobin test and the length/height for age Z-score; and at twelve months, there is a significant correlation between the HbA1C and the weight for age Z-score and the length/height for age Z-score. Furthermore, there is a significant negative correlation between the age of diagnosis and the Body mass index for age. In spite of the correlations found, it conclude that there is no positive or negative correlation significant enough between the anthropometric assessment and the metabolic control during the first year of the disease.
