Abstract
La presente investigación es un estudio cuasiexperimental que da a conocer los efectos de la aplicación de un Programa Integrado de Habilidades Sociales en niños de nueve (9) a trece (13) años de edad con discapacidad intelectual. Los niveles de logro obtenidos en habilidades de Interacción Social mejoraron en un 25% lo que podía considerarse apropiado; así como el nivel de logro en habilidades de cuidado personal, incrementó en un 25%, igualmente apropiado. Esto demostró que el nivel de logro en la práctica de ambas habilidades, de los niños del 1er. Grado de primaria, se incrementó en un total de 26.5%, lo que les da a los estudiantes mayores posibilidades de adquirir, e incrementar mejores razones para una mejor calidad de vida, mejor relación con las personas a través de conductas adecuadas y apropiadas, que en situación de discapacidad están disminuidas. El instrumento utilizados sobre actividades sociales contempla dos ámbitos: el de habilidades sociales que incluye: Interacción Social (saludos, reglas de cortesía, ayuda, apoyo y cooperación, expresión de sentimientos y convivencia; y el de cuidado personal (higiene, ir al baño, vestido y hábitos de mesa). Igualmente, el instrumento para recolectar datos fue una lista de chequeo conductual. La población estuvo conformada por los alumnos del Centro de Básica Especial “San Rafael” en número de 12 alumnos, siendo 6 que formaron el grupo experimental y 6, el grupo de control de las aulas de primaria I A y B.

Similarly, the instrument for collecting data was a behavioral checklist. The population was formed by the students of the Special Basic Center “San Rafael" in number of 12 students, being 6 that formed the experimental group and 6, the control group of the primary classrooms I A and B.
