Abstract
The project developed in the 50 kilometer of the Iquitos Nauta highway, department of Loreto, is about the design of a university residence for complementary services, integrating from the planning to the elements and strategies that contribute to diminish the negative collateral impacts (environmental, social, economic, cultural) related to construction, maintenance and final disposal, promoting sustainable benefit in favor of the environment, using vernacular architecture designs whose most representative construction materials are irapay wood and leaves, typical of the area whose qualities structural are resistant to climate and soil characteristics. The project contributes to a sustainable and comfortable and integral construction, oriented to satisfy the need felt by foreign university students to the city of Iquitos, providing them with adequate academic spaces (study room, library, newspaper library); contributing to the family economy (affordable housing, low prices); social interaction (common areas); cultural diffusion (workshops of crafts, dances, dialect and traditional medicine), promoting their health (bedrooms with ventilation and natural lighting, topic, safe water), and emotional well-being (gardens and green areas). It is an alternative constructive solution that benefits the population under study, which will prevail over time, benefiting future generations. In this context, the architectural project is proposed, as an alternative to the housing need during the transition through university life, and at the end of their academic preparation, they can contribute through proposals for a better action and development of their community, with a positive impact in their standard of living.
