Abstract
Mathematics represents one of the most important areas within educational activities, but at the same time it is one of the least attractive subjects for students. The objective was to determine the effectiveness of the program "Games that are not forgotten" in the development of Early Mathematical Competence in 5-year-old children of an IEI in the district of Puente Piedra, 2022. The research belongs to the positivist paradigm, quantitative approach, explanatory level, applied type, and quasi-experimental design. The population consisted of 40 5-year-old boys and girls from an IEI. The Early Mathematics Assessment Test by Navarro et al. (2011) was used as a data collection instrument. It was concluded that the program "Games that are not forgotten" significantly improved (t=-7.991 and p=<.001) the Early Mathematical Competence in 5-year-old children of an IEI in the district of Puente Piedra.
