Abstract
The present work highlights the benefits of stimulation in multisensory rooms for children with different disabilities and its bases within sensorial integration and basal stimulation. Sensorial integration is a neurological process through which information that enters the nervous system is organized and interpreted. Basal stimulation is a concept which aims to open ways for impulses that the child may register and assimilate within his/her possibilities. These two concepts are key for multisensory stimulation. They are spaces where the different senses are stimulated to create learning conditions at elementary level thanks to brain plasticity. These spaces are of great benefit in early intervention programs which work with children with different abilities. We will also define Early Intervention Programs (PRITE in Spanish) along with the means of inclusion into the program. A stimulation program intended for multisensory rooms is presented at the end of this work. In order to implement them it is necessary to know the communicative functions, which are based on the communicative repertory of a handicap child (attention, rejection, gratitude, anger, petition, complacency or refusal/negation), by Louise R. Kent
