The present study was based on a sample of 67 Mexican and 100 Peruvian participants of both genders,of 11to 13years old, with the purpose of comparing their mental structure of the self-concept. The self-conceptquestionnaire ofValdez-Medina (1994) was used, adpating it for the Peruvian sample, which demonstratedgood results. By means of factor analysis with varimax rotation, similitudes in the structure and the contentof the self-concept ofboth samples were found. Thus, it was ratified that the Mexican and Peruvian participantstend to perceive themselves as more obedient-affiliative and respectful of norms. These results indicate, thatbetween Mexican and Peruvian there are sorne cultural aspects that tend to be the same or very similar.es_PE
