dc.description.abstractEl propósito de la presente investigación fue analizar los niveles de Inteligencia Emocional de los docentes de una universidad privada. Se trata de una investigación de tipo descriptivo-explicativo, de diseño descriptivo-correlacional. La muestra consistió de 102 docentes de ambos sexos, 30 nombrados y 72 contratados, a quienes se les aplicó el inventario de Cociente Emocional de Bar-On (ICE), el cual contiene 133 ítems y cuyas respuestas se dan en base a una escala Likert. Los resultados obtenidos fueron los siguientes: en primer lugar, se determinó que el nivel de inteligencia emocional de los docentes corresponde a la categoría promedio (90-109). Se halló correlación positiva y significativa entre los diferentes factores y entre casi todas las subescalas del ICE Bar-On. Según sexo, se encontraron diferencias significativas en el cociente emocional de los factores manejo de estrés y estado de ánimo general, y en las subescalas autorrealización, control de impulsos y felicidad. Según edad, se encontró correlación positiva y significativa en los factores intrapersonal e interpersonal y en las subescalas: comprensión de sí mismo, asertividad, autorrealización y relaciones interpersonales. Según años de servicio, se halló correlación positiva y significativa en el CE General, en los factores intrapersonal, interpersonal, adaptabilidad y manejo de estrés, y en las subescalas: comprensión de sí mismo, asertividad, autorrealización, relaciones interpersonales, prueba de realidad, flexibilidad, tolerancia al estrés y felicidad.es_PE
dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research was to analyze the Emotional Intelligence levels among lecturers in a privately funded university. The research is of a descriptive-explanatory nature, with a descriptive-correlational design. The sample consisted of 102 male and female lecturers, 30 of them under indefinite term contracts and the remaining 72 under fixed-term contracts. The Bar-On Emotional Quotient Inventory (Bar-On EQ-i), containing 133 items was applied, and the answers are given based on a Likert scale. The results obtained were as follows: firstly, the lecturers' emotional intelligence level falls within the average category (90-109). Positive and significant correlation was found among the various components and between almost all subscales of Bar-On EQ-i. Significant differences were found when comparing the average Emotional Quotient according to sex in the Stress Management and General Mood factors, as well as the Self-Actualization, Impulse Control and Happiness subscales. By age, positive and significant correlation was found in the Intrapersonal and Interpersonal factors and Self-Regard, Assertiveness, Self-Actualization and Interpersonal Relations subscales. Positive and significant correlation was found according to years of employment in the general Eq, the Intrapersonal, Interpersonal, Adaptability and Stress Management factors, as well as the Self-Regard, Assertiveness, Self-Actualization, Interpersonal Relations, Reality-Testing, Flexiblity, Stress Tolerance subscales and Happiness.es_PE
